Connecticut Fair Share Organizing Event

Fair Share Zone is a new approach to zoning that calls upon each town in Connecticut to plan and zone to help meet its region's need for affordable housing. Through a Fair Share process, our state can plan to address our affordable housing and segregation crises while giving towns the autonomy to conduct their own zoning and contribute to bringing greater economic vitality to Connecticut.

On February 18th, as part of an invitation-only event, OCA will unveil the details of the Fair Share proposal and discuss how fair share creates a realistic opportunity for Connecticut to move forward on mixed income housing, regional planning, racial equity, and economic sustainability simultaneously.

We'll also hear from the Fair Share Housing Center of New Jersey to learn what success looks like and what it took to create almost 100,000 units of affordable housing in New Jersey.

Finally we will discuss strategies for making the most of this legislative session and of course, how you can help.

We'll be convening by Zoom on February 18th from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Please bring an open mind and your questions.

If you have questions in advance, please feel free to reach out to our Policy & Data Analyst, Sam Giffin: [email protected] (202) 330-3214
