OCA seeks an Administrative Coordinator with a diverse range of administrative skills, including proactivity, attention to detail, a sense of self-awareness, and high emotional intelligence.
The Administrative Coordinator must be deeply committed to our mission, social justice generally, and prepared to work as part of a team to apply the principles of fair housing choice to the systems that generate segregation and its impact in Connecticut.
Responsibilities
The Administrative Coordinator will report to the Operations & Grants Manager. Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the scheduling of the Executive Director, managing the shared office calendar and, when needed, supporting scheduling and events for other staff members.
- Maintaining OCA’s physical office, including managing supplies, files, and related systems in partnership with staff.
- Coordinating office technology, including troubleshooting basic issues and interfacing with external IT support.
- Answering incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing them to the appropriate department, individual, or outside resource. This includes initial client screening and referral.
- Efficiently responding to staff questions on office operations and related matters.
- Assisting with maintaining our constituent and donor databases (Nationbuilder and Bloomerang).
- Contributing to the logistics of the hiring, onboarding, and exit processes.
- Supporting event planning and execution, including logistics and coordination.
- Assisting with content creation for communications and other graphic design needs.
- Maintaining office policies and procedures at the direction of the Executive Director and Operations & Grants Manager.
- Processing expense reports and managing credit card receipts.
- Managing office mail and deliveries, including supporting annual direct mail campaigns. and
- Other administrative tasks as needed.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have 1-3 years of administrative experience.
- Possess key competencies and attributes, including: exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; a creative and strategic mindset for problem-solving; self-awareness and curiosity; a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; a responsible and collaborative work ethic; and the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across diverse groups.
- Ability to bring a positive and unflappable attitude to the work and contribute to a larger team.
- Have a strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Canva, and various other forms of technology. Experience with NationBuilder and basic web design a plus.
- Are enthusiastic about and dedicated to OCA’s mission, as well as broader social change, and are eager to contribute to an advocacy ecosystem where OCA plays a vital role.

Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time permanent position with a salary of $55,000-$65,000. Additional remuneration and responsibilities commensurate with experience.
OCA offers the option of a flexible schedule and hybrid (currently 80% remote) working environment. OCA also provides excellent benefits, including medical and dental insurance (OCA pays 100% of employees’ and 75% of dependents’ medical insurance premiums, while dental insurance premiums are 100% employee-paid), 15 vacation days (increasing to 21 days after one year of employment), 15 sick days, 3 personal days, 2 flex-holidays and 11 standard holidays, along with a 401(k) retirement plan (after completing six months of employment) with a 3% contribution from OCA regardless of employee contribution.
