On February 18, 2026 OCA hosted a webinar on the real-world impacts of HB 8002 and its Housing Growth Plans. The new law, which will take effect over the coming months and years, will for the first time provide a framework for towns to allow and support the construction of the affordable housing the state so badly needs.

Speakers at the webinar included OCA Policy Director Hugh Bailey; John Guszkowski, planner and principal with Tyche Planning & Policy Group and co-chair of the Council on Housing Development; Liz Torres, founder of HousingSmarts; and Mia Sacks, president of the Princeton, N.J., City Council.
